Have you ever heard the saying that you learn something new every day? Well, I think it is the truth because I learned something today that I did not know. I’m not sure if I will use the information, but I did find it very interesting. Tonight while I was eating dinner with my brother and parents, they were discussing some things my brother had been taught at school. He is going to a technical college in the evenings to learn about automobile mechanics. He said that before there were fuel injectors in cars that carburetors were responsible for the distribution of fuel and mass air flow to achieve the proper fuel mixture.

I was a little curious about how the carburetor could possibly know the varying pressure and air flow measurement of these things. His reply was that there are an assortment of strategies that are used to calculate the air flow and mass and said that there are flow meters that do amazing things these days. He went on to tell me about an oil flow monitor that he learned about also. He said it was a device that is able to deliver just the right amount of lubrication to the bearings in mining, steel making and machining applications. I guess I really did learn a few things new today.
