I think that the cheap souvenirs do at least serve a purpose–everyone in my family loves to receive little do-dads that didn’t cost me too much but still meant I remembered them on the trip. People like stuff like that!

I love finding little out of the way shops in cities to get memorable, fabulous souvenirs, because they seem so much more interesting than the run of the mill plastic things. Not to say I’m above getting a plastic thing or two for the kids!

My favorite earrings are and forever will be these huge, cerulean blue glass baubles that I got in this tiny little shop tucked at the bottom of the Sacre Coeur in Paris. Every time I wear them people compliment me and I get to tell the story all over again!

The ones that annoy me the most are those little tote bags that all look like they were produced in the same place and just have different cities written on them. How stupid is that? That doesn’t show anything other than that you went to the airport.

I couldn’t agree with you more! Collecting something interesting like business cards or matchbooks is going to lend far more cache to your collection than the same overpriced tshirt that everyone else on the planet has. Keep it interesting!

Since I majored in Kinesiology as an undergrad, it was pretty much a no-brainer for me to get a Doctorate in Health Education. So far, it’s been a great job.

I got my doctorate this past May and I’m still not used to people calling me, “Doctor.” But I get a little thrill when they do, especially since I’m the first person in my family to graduate from any college.

As someone who’s worked in the medical field for a lot of years, I have to recommend getting a degree like the Doctor of Health Education. Right now, there’s a crying need for educators in all areas of healthcare. Get your Doctorate in Health Education and you’ll never have to worry about finding a job.
