There has to be some way to get lots of free music downloads. But of course I want to keep it legal. I don’t want the music download police knocking on our door anytime soon! I was still too young to get in on the whole Napster thing before they shut that all down. Now the free music download choices are few and far between.

I’ve scored a few free downloads by signing up for opt in email lists. It helps too if you have a few email addresses because when you do stumble upon one where you get a free download for signing up, you can sign up a bunch of times! But finding these email lists can be difficult and time consuming.

Then there are the ones from all of the soft drink companies. They really make you jump through hoops. And when you finally have jumped through all of the hoops, the choice in songs is very limited. It’s like they never have anything new or fresh.

There are a few sites that offer free downloads like MTV which I think are legit, but it still feels kind of risky whenever you go to sites like theirs. Any time you get music truly for free there is going to be some kind of catch. After all, nothing is really free.
