It is funny how one takes something like a smile for granted, but let me tell you it is something that I missed.  You see, I was in a car accident six month ago in which most of my front teeth broke when my face smashed into the dash.

Unfortunately for me, the airbag on my side didn’t deploy so instead of having something cushion my forward motion, my face met the dashboard in an explosion of pain.  When I awoke to a sea of pain, I saw what happened – my lovely smile was gone.

But thankfully with the help of a cosmetic dentist in Washington DC, and a lot of dental work, my smile is finally back.  In fact, I would almost say that it looks like nothing happened to me at all, though I will forever carry that experience with me.

No one will know when I go back to school on Monday for the first time in almost half a year that I was in such bad shape, but instead they will be greeted by my stunning smile, and people will forget that I have been gone so long.  I am just happy that the accident didn’t turn out to be any worse.
