Decisions to Make About Wedding Invitations

Earlier this summer I helped a friend plan a portion of her wedding. I had agreed to help but had hoped to get myself put on an easy task. When she assigned me to assisting her with choosing her wedding invitations, I thought that I’d gotten lucky. That was before I knew just how many decisions there are to make about wedding invitations.

First you have to go to the wedding stationery store to select the type of design that you want for the wedding invitations. She told me that she wanted frangipani wedding invitations. I spent a lot of time looking at DIY wedding invitations to try to figure out what she meant. Finally I had to ask a sales clerk who informed me that frangipani is a type of flower which she wanted as the design.

The design wasn’t the final decision though. I also had to help her figure out what type of invitation she needed. Was it going to be a basic paper / card invitation or did she want something fancier like a satchel invitation? And we needed to decide what type of matching extras had to be purchased (RSVP cards, "save the date" cards, thank you cards, place cards … the list seemed endless). Eventually it all got taken care of but I sure found out that wedding invitations is no easy part of planning a wedding!
