Protecting the homestead

Back in the olden days, people had muskets to protect their homesteads. In the 60’s they had bars on their windows to deter robbers. In the 90’s the burglar alarm was invented. Today we have a much more politically correct term of security system protecting a lot of homes. I would say that most of my friends have a security system in Seattle which is where I live. It is just something that you do today. I did not have a security system in Denver when I lived there in 1980, but we did have a security system in Tucson in the 1990’s. Though we called it a burglar alarm back then.
Terminology changes over the years, but the idea is the same, to have protection for your biggest asset which is typically ones house. Adding the alarm is arming the house to offer protection to your family and friends while they are staying in your home. And protection is what a house does the best, just think it protects you from inclement weather and it can also protect you from forced entries. There are some ways to be thankful for the protection your house can offer, and having the addition of a security system is just one way to look at it.
